Impressive House Fire, Elizabeth CO 3-19-14
#1
This afternoon I heard Elizabeth Fire toned to a residential structure fire.  Chief 271 immediately requested a 2nd Alarm and reported flames & smoke visible from miles away.  My father lives in the area which is quite far from my house so I "dispatched" him to the call.  Crews found a large 2 story with walk-out house fully engulfed on arrival.  With no hydrants a tender shuttle was needed.

My Dad's view from his neighborhood right after we got off the phone...

Thankfully there was only a light wind today, flying brands ignited a vegetation fire that the neighbors jumped into action on.  Two brush trucks were special called and the fire didn't extend too far.

The delta side of the house had a brick facade that held up better, but there was still fire throughout.
