Spirit of Louisiana

I remember finding the current Wear abouts of the "Spirit of Louisiana" Ex FDNY engine 283 to a volunteer company outside Long Beach NY, but I can't remember which one, can anyone shed some light on that?

Thanks in advance,

Stay safe,

John

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.

I'm pretty sure that it didn't go to a volunteer company in NY.  Last I heard, FDNY donated it to a fire department in the Louisiana area after Hurricane Katrina, but I don't recall which one it was.

It was donated to the West Hamilton Beach VFD in Queens NY  http://www.whbvfd.org/appartus/index/page_id/111

It wasn't donated. It was loaned, first to Long beach, and then west hamilton, but is back down in La. Since the beginning of the summer.

If is owned by the Louisiana state fire marshals office.
