Mt Gretna Fire Company in Lebanon County recently finalized a deal with

Hershey Vol. Fire Dept. purchasing their old 1993 Spartan / Darley 2000 GPM pumper.

They received it last weekend.

I don't think that is the one they got. I think the 1993 went to Fairview Twp. in York County. I think Mt. Gretna got the 1999/86 Spartan/Pierce/ITE 2000/1000/50/50.

From the photo on their facebook site. This engine is the one at their station. the 1999 has a larger window after the crew compartment and I don't

believe it has an overhead ladder rack like the 1993 has.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to do some more digging, but your most likely 100% correct.

This is a photo of the 1999/1986 Spartan / Pierce rehab, with the larger window after the crew door.

the 1999 was Engine 48, where as the 1993 was Engine 48-1.

1972 Ford/1986 Reading Air/Light unit from Glenn Lebanon... they took a member's old pick up truck that they were going to get rid of, put this utility body on it and called it thier air/light unit (you can see that the body is newer than the chassis in this picture). It was replaced in 1999 by thier current Air/Light unit (as I have it in my records).

That Ford cab is newer than a 1972. If it is all original, it has to be a 1978 or 1979, the only years that cab had rectangle headlights available.

I wasn't sure either, all of the old Ford cabs that are of that age are unknown territory to me.. I photographed this thing when I was a youngster and got the information, as we all know though the information you recieve is subject to review and corrections.

Not to belabor the point, but my 1978 4wd pickup had round headlights, so this must be a 1979.

Not necessarily. Round headlights were standard on lower trim level pickups in 1978, but the rectangle ones were used on the upper trim level packages. They became standard on all levels in 1979. The upper level trim on 1978 models usually included chrome mouldings along the side of the body, which this one doesn't have, but they could have been removed.

Dave, from 1973-1979 The Ford F series pickup had the same body style. In 1978, they changed the grill and kept the headlights round until mid-1978. From mid year through the 1979 model year, the headlights went square.
