This week's trip to Pierce
#1
Hey folks, it was back to Appleton this week to do a pre-construction meeting for a couple of pumpers at work.

We'd actually built some extra time into this trip which would have allowed plenty of photo time, but we had to make a lot of rearrangements and long work hours to make it back before the storm that was about to cripple the East Coast arrived.  Therefore, you're going to get a whole lot of point-and-shoot photos with little-to-no-information to go along with them. Sorry about that, but a photo is better than no photo, right?

We'll start off with a few rigs from the blue floor. This is BWI's new Squad 43. BWI is located in Anne Arundel Co, MD for those keeping notes at home.

Brentwood, which I believe is located on Long Island, will take delivery of this Quantum PUC rescue.  Note the Code 3 version of the "Fairfax Light" near the windshield.

Greater Eagle, CO will receive this AWD pumper that Lukas is already making arrangements to shoot this summer.  It's a beast.

Austin, TX always has a pile of rigs under construction when I go up to the factory.  I believe this order has a total of five Quantum pumpers being delivered.

Newport Beach, CA had a couple of these no-nonsense pumpers being prepped for inspection.

Also from California, Oxnard has three tillers that are fairly far along in the construction process. (No pics)

We had the chance to talk for a bit with the guys from Pondersoa, TX.  Great department and well-spec'd rig.  For those that follow Pierce on Facebook, this is the rig that was on there yesterday with all the blinkies blinking.

Deltona, FL will operate this sharp silver-over-red pumper.  This scheme is becoming more popular over the past couple of years.

This unusual four-door Kenworth/Snozzle for Park Co, WY was at the IPP plant.  It already has Wyoming plates on it, so it must be back for some aerial work.

Near the Snozzle were a couple of SkyBooms for Norman, OK (E1 and E4).  They also always seem to have some rigs under construction.

Rear view of the Chippewa Falls rig.  I hope that the Command Zone screen isn't permanently mounted to block the ladder tunnel like that!
