Over the weekend, Rescue 1's 2002 KME went out of service and they were using Rescue 101. Last night, Rescue 101 went out of service as well. So now, Rescue 1 is running as a two-piece company. They are utilizing spare Engine 263 and Collapse Unit 1.

Don't worry it's happened in our city too. Remember seeing one of the old Spartan FMC engines about 10 years ago running as Rescue 1 at Steadman.

Back in those days I can remember Rescue 1 responding with the LaFrance (collapse unit) and two spare medic units when the coke truck was out of service. This was prior to the Spartan/Saulsbury rig being delivered in 1992.

I didn't either.

Medic 8B has Medic 10's former GMC

Medic 9B has Medic 25's former GMC

Medic 35B has Medic 2's former GMC

Medic 49B has Medic 11's former GMC

I would've thought that the remaining 2006 Fords in ALS service would've gotten replaced first.

Keep in mind, Medics 8B and 9B are among the busiest units in the city. Reassigning an older unit may not have been a good option because of the amount of running they do.

Not yet, but rumor is Engine 7 will become Engine 37 and Pipeline 3's ALF is at the shops being converted into Squad 72.

True. Still thought that Medic 27 would get something before Medic 49B out in the Northeast.

Deluge 59's 1995 KME 950055 has not yet been reassigned as it has just returned from having work done.

1995 KME 950058 is still at Engine 66 since the rebuilt KME is still awaiting computer installation

Pipeline 52's 1995 KME 950062 is now Engine 173

I currently don't have any info on Medics 5 and 6

I saw Medic 38 at the shops in South Philly a few weeks ago but haven't heard anything since.

I've been keeping track of the reassignments after the new KMEs went into service.
