Ironically enough there have been two multiple alarm fires at the old Sunny Jim plant over the years. I'm pretty sure one of them wound up on the cover of Firehouse Magazine.

Here is a shot of Station 14 taken the day (8-13-12) before their move to temporary quarters on Airport Way. Ladder 7 was assigned a spare rig that day.

Doors are being hung already at the site of the new Station 6, scheduled for December 2012 completion.

Demolition began this week on the site of Engine 9's old station

The buildings at Engine 20's new station site have finally been boarded up and are ready to be flattened.

Engine 34 has moved into temporary quarters while their station

under goes a seismic upgrade, plus an addition resizing for improved living

spaces.

And on the top of Queen Ann Hill, Engine 8 and Ladder 6 have

their temporary quarters in place, occupying living space set up in the former

high school gym area.

Luther King Way and Jackson Street.  An open house is scheduled in March.

The Seattle Landmarks Board designated the station as a landmark in 2005.  

SFD will more than likely put it up for sale like they did with old station 38 and

37.

Luther King Way and Jackson Street.  An open house is scheduled in March.

Station 14 work is progressing.  A newly constructed, drive through bay, set

back from the front facade will house the Rescue.  The next bay formally assigned to the spare

Rescue 80, will be widened and extended deep inside, after a major beam is

reconfigured.  This bay will be able to then support a tractor drawn aerial truck.  

The next adjacent bay that housed ladder 7, will be converted for equipment storage. 

The  two bays located on the south side of the station will remain the same size as far as I know,

and house Aid14 and the spare rescue rig.

Does this station have living quarters upstairs and poles ?

Station 14 looks great.  Maybe now that they've got a long enough bay they can rip off Portland, buy a tractor drawn rescue, and dump Ladder 7 altogether.

There are four bunks on the second floor, with officer's and

two aid car bunks on the first floor.

Currently there is one centrally located pole in the station and I haven't heard of any plans

to eliminate it.
