Manhasset-Lakeville, NY had this Calavar Firebird Snorkel. Does anyone have a list of all Firebirds produced and where they went? Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Usa' />

Here is a delivery-list, that I got from Calavar many years ago. At least two Condor-models were built for the emergency service. The Condor 150 for Vienna Airport/Austria was built on an International chassis with Cargostar cab. I can post a pic of this one. The Condor 125' for Malmo Fire Department / Sweden was the very last Calavar boom built (about 1986).

Prince Frederick, MD Truck # 2 was this beautiful 1975 Maxim 100' ladder. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Usa' />

[/quote]

New Orleans operated two Maxims that were nearly identical to this one. Supposedly, the NOFD need to purchase two trucks in either 1975 or 1976 and Maxim was the only company that had two demo units ready to go. One went into service downtown as Ladder 2 and the other went to the "Gert Town" section of New Orleans as Ladder 7. As is customary with many FDs, the NOFD fleet is very "fluid" and these Maxims moved around a bit during their career. One of them eventually made it to Ladder 4 in the Lower 9th Ward and the other went to the "spare" pool. Both ended their careers in the mid-90's when the main ladders failed their inspections due to corrosion.

Camp Strauss (Somewhere) had this Ford F unit. Mattson Collection <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/usa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Usa' />

Lebanon County. one of the far northern compaines, it is actually in a dead end community. There are 2 lakes there, and the main road back in is closed off right at Camp Strauss. When I was younger it was open and you could 4 wheel back through there, depending on the rains.

Thanks for the input, gang. Juergen, thanks for the Calavar list. It would be cool to do a thread on that apparatus. Always good to hear from Doc Stinebaugh as well. Thanks also for the Camp Strauss feedback. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Last for this evening is this HAMERLY ALERT! for Eric. I shot this rig about 100 years ago (it seems) and I can't locate the notepad that has the stats written. In any event, Peapack & Gladstone, NJ operated this Hendrickson/Hamerly pumper.
