Before I got back to the Interstate from Jane Lew, it was pouring. It rained all the way up to Morgantown, causing me to skip several stops and putting me at Masontown, PA three hours ahead of schedule. I knew in advance that members would arrive around 5 PM to prepare for that night's Bingo games and I had made previous arrangements to shoot their fleet, but I was there at 2. Luckily, I was able to locate a driver and was back on the road by 3:30.

Masontown's apparatus are numbered in the order they were purchased. As you will see, they are a bit superstitious.

On July 27th, I began a 3900 mile road trip that would add 215 more apparatus to my collection of photos. For the most part, the weather was great, however there must be some rule that won't allow me and the sun to be in West Virginia at the same time! I did manage to get a couple rigs there, but several of my planned stops were rained out.

Masontown was my last scheduled stop for the day and I had book lodging in nearby Waynesburg. My first planned stop for the next day was Taylorstown, PA, so I decided to head there. On the way, I heard the weather forecast and changed my plans, cancelling the motel and the next days stops, due to expected bad weather. The sun was still out when I got to Taylorstown, but it was raining heavily by the time I found a member, so I didn't get any photos. My primary reason for the Taylorstown stop was research, which can be explained in the "John Bean FMC" thread. I headed north to my hometown of Dunkirk, NY.

As predicted, the weather sucked on the 28th, but the 29th was perfect with blue skies and low 70's temperatures. I had family obligations for the afternoon, but had previous arrangements with three departments for that morning.

Yes, this trip. This was my latest of many visits and about the only rig I didn't have.

I have no knowledge of that. They have been having financial issues, but things are looking better since the "Fire Tax" was passed. They still operate from three locations. Engine 2 is quartered in a leased bay of a commercial building.

Thanks, Mike! I thought that this was a former FDNY rig, just wasn't sure.
