Quote:I don't believe your information is correct. I'm pretty sure that there wasn't a South Versailles VFD in North Versailles Township since there's also a South Versailles Township nearby.
As I understand the FD history there, the Sunset and Central VFDs merged to form the Sunset-Central VFD. I think one or both of these were already a merged department. Several years later, Sunset-Central VFD (213), Green Valley VFD (214), and Dixon Hollow (210) merged to become the Fire Department of North Versailles (FDNV).
As for the building in question, I believe that the Sunset VFD operated from that building and it is now the Social Hall for FDNV.
Thank you for the information. EMS12 stopped here earlier this year and said he remembered photographing a rig there many years ago, but couldn't remember the name of the company that was there. Thank you very much for the help.
You are correct. I meant South Wilmerding, not South Versailles. Before all the mergers there were 8 fire companies at one point in North Versailles. South Wilmerding VFD, Dixon-Hollow VFD, West Wilmerding VFD, Crestas VFD, Park Terrace VFD, Sunset VFD, Arlington VFD and Green Valley VFD

I am told Atlas has another station where they keep a ladder truck. Can anyone confirm this and/or have a picture of the second station and the ladder for Atlas?

I don't care how many times I've been to PA and read about the PA fire service, having 8 firehouses (at one time) protecting 8.3 square miles is simply amazing to me.
