CM-1 ("Custom Municipal-1"). When King folded in 1984, only 12 had been built. Belgian Standard bought the King factory in late 1985 and changed their name to Amertek shortly thereafter. Amertek did get the CM-1 design from King-Seagrave and produced several rigs using the same chassis/cab. I don't believe Scot was involved. Amertek also used CM-1 cab componants in their ARFF apparatus.

It also carried a 60 GPM pump and 350 gallon tank. One of a kind!

It's been replaced, but I think it's still in town.

For those who are wondering which of the 4 municipalities in New Jersey named Franklin Township, a search revealed that this is Franklinville of Gloucester County. Others are in Somerset, Warren and Hunterdon counties. The only post office named Franklin in NJ is at Franklin Borough in Sussex County.

So naturally Mount Tabor's was always one of my favorites at area parades such the annual Labor Day Saturday one held in Boonton where I see this pic was taken as it passed by the local Chrysler-Plymouth dealer, that moved to Butler 14 years ago and is now called Precision Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram. I think this engine was one of those from 55 towns that responded to the largest fire ever in our area that my town, Butler, "hosted" in 1957. BTW, when this was purchased the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills probably only had a total population of maybe 10,000 to 15,000 over its 25 square miles but today it is around 60K and home to many major corporate facilities.

However I believe the newer book is the more accurate description.

I can relate to it because it was one of the first wetdown celebrations that I had to miss after being hired for dispatching at our PD with the guy who was scheduled for the Saturday evening shift calling out sick.
