I believe you're right Casey, seems like they did mention the tower won't be here untill spring/summer of 2013, leaving the northern part of Davidson County without a ladder for a while. Welcome has an ALF on order but they have no idea when or if they will get it due to the current problems at ALF. It was supposed to be delivered by August.

[/quote] LOL, wouldn't surprise me if Welcome is waiting a good long time. A couple of Los Angeles area FDs had ordered TDAs from them a few yrs back and one of them cancelled their order, due to the bankruptcy. 
Seriously, what would inspire you to sign a contract with ALF?

In North Carolina, Franklin is a popular name, which can make it challenging to keep track of new deliveries sometimes. Here is the breakdown of FD's with "Franklin" in their name:
Town of Franklin (Macon County) Franklin (Rowan County) Franklin Community (Surry County) Franklinton (Franklin County) Franklinville (Randolph County) Frankin Community VFD is located just north of Mount Airy, serving the largest square mile area from 2 stations all the way to Carroll County, VA. Here is their apparatus from the main station. This rig has been trouble for FCVFD since they got it, including a weight issue. As a result of poor engineering by M&W and the FD, the water tank had to be downgraded from a 1250-gallon tank and removal of some equipment.
