The deposit was placed on this rig last week and should be delivered to its new home in a couple of weeks. Midway is replacing this with a 2012 Pierce 100' tower.
Interesting!! I was told this last April/May, that they were still specing the new rig out and that it wouldnt be in service until Summer of next year. Awesome Midway pics!! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I believe you're right Casey, seems like they did mention the tower won't be here untill spring/summer of 2013, leaving the northern part of Davidson County without a ladder for a while. Welcome has an ALF on order but they have no idea when or if they will get it due to the current problems at ALF. It was supposed to be delivered by August.

LOL, wouldn't surprise me if Welcome is waiting a good long time. A couple of Los Angeles area FDs had ordered TDAs from them a few yrs back and one of them cancelled their order, due to the bankruptcy.
This was a real treat to shoot, I just wished the sun would have stayed out for a little while longer.

WOW! Didn't think I'd ever see that in service again, Served at NASA Wallops Flight Facility Va until early 2008, it an a few others were replaced with two Strikers. Sold from the Wallops salvage yard in late '08.
In North Carolina, Franklin is a popular name, which can make it challenging to keep track of new deliveries sometimes. Here is the breakdown of FD's with "Franklin" in their name:
Town of Franklin (Macon County)
Franklin (Rowan County)
Franklin Community (Surry County)
Franklinton (Franklin County)
Franklinville (Randolph County)
Frankin Community VFD is located just north of Mount Airy, serving the largest square mile area from 2 stations all the way to Carroll County, VA. Here is their apparatus from the main station.
This rig has been trouble for FCVFD since they got it, including a weight issue. As a result of poor engineering by M&W and the FD, the water tank had to be downgraded from a 1250-gallon tank and removal of some equipment.
