I loved these things when Baltimore ran them, and here's 1 at my favorite spot in Baltimore to shoot Apparatus. The Fallsway/Front St. Fuel Pumps.

here's another shot of one of my many trips to Fallsway throughout the years. I've been going there for nearly 20 years, and it's still my favorite place in Baltimore to shoot Fire Apparatus.

Baltimore's Famous Rescue 1

1950 Mack

Anyone know what became of this workhorse? Hope somebody saved her along the way. Baltimore sure had a bunch of really sharp L model Macks....

Thanks,

Gary

Pictures pop up every now and again of her rusting away in a field. Last ones I saw a while back there was hope that she could be saved. Who knows now

The old Rescue 1 L Mack was on ebay a few years ago, and then purchased by someone from Clinton, MD. Howard and I went down to look at it. The guy had it in his back yard under one of theose tent garages. He didn't know what he was going to do wit the rig, as it needed more repairs then he thought. I think it ended up on ebay again, but not sure where it went from there.

Winter 1993, about 1/2 mile west on 118 of the new MCFRS Sta.22.

The rig was there thru 1992 and until summer 1993 when it disappeared.

RT 118 was relocated through this property later, this was on a sharp curve.
