James' 1963 Ford/ALF

Engine 3 emerges from the barn this morning, after 20 months OOS, wearing her new look.



E3 is a 1963 Ford C-850/ALF 750/500 formerly of Wayland, MA. Just completed this week are a major brake overhaul, installation of a backup alarm, and replacement of the Code 3 light bar with a more appropriate Dietz 211 beacon and Federal bullet siren speaker.



We're off to a Cruise-in this afternoon. Hopefully I'll have better photos later.

I bet that thing could still pump as well as some of the newer rigs James! Sorry I missed you at Skips tonight. Just got rid of the last of the birthday party guests. Hope everything went well!

Well, it pumps like h*ll on a hydrant, but needs new gaskets and packing to maintain a draft. 490 lb-ft of torque, you know.



As promised, we maide it to Skips for the big cruise today. There were over 725 cars and light trucks in attendance, and one fire engine.

Is it bad that I feel the need to have my cell phone and iPod with me when travelling in my 1963? That is a nice looking Ford, we have one in our club, let me see if I can find a pic of it from our Sept. pumper run in Tampa.......Yep, found them, here's the pics, dont have any info right now on that Ford however it is ex-Thunderbolt, Ga.
