Here's the same rig in the new Valleytown lettering. They added thin blue accents to the lettering that dresses it up quite a bit.

Another one of Valleytown's recent acquisitions is this former Enka-Candler, NC rig, a 1992 Sutphen 1500/750 Pumper as Engine 3052 HS2907.

This former Anniston Army Depot rig is Valleytown's newest rig, and first ladder truck. It's not been relettered yet but is a 1991 Pierce Arrow 1000/300/100' Ladder SO#E5936-03.

Today, I ventured back up to one of my favorite departments, Valleytown Fire Rescue in Andrews, NC. Earlier in the year, they were given this Ex-Fort Stewart/Hunter AFF engine. It's a 1989/1998 E\-One 1000/500/30F engine, SO#18704. This photo was taken in front of Valleytown's station before the truck was relettered.

Technically, this is a 1989 Federal Motors/1998 E\-One refurb. It was originally built by Fire Trucks, Inc.

Jumping around a bit, let's head to Hampden, ME Fire Dept, a department I was a volunteer with for about 9 months when I got out of high school...a long, long time ago. Anyway, they've moved up a long way from the horse and buggy days of old. First up is this 2003 Freightliner FL80/MetalFab 1250/750 Pumper as Engine 271. They were a bit leery of moving the two engines around too much because the pavement was new and it was leaving marks in it. So, with the big trucks, I had to settle for the way they posed them.

I would really have liked the other side of this, and posed nicely but I got what I got. It's Hampden's 2009 Rosenbauer/Central States 1250/2500/25A/25B Tanker, designated Engine 272.

And this one, Hampden's Brush 276, is one I really wanted to shoot. It was built about 45 miles from me here in Georgia. It replaced an old home made Jeep rig. This one is a 2012 Ford F550 built by Southern Fire and carries 500 gallons of water and has a 500 gpm pump.

Been wanting to shoot rigs from the Grape Creek VFD in Cherokee County, NC for a long time. Went to a parade today and one was there. Couldn't get any decent shots of it in the parade of course but found it at a gas station on its way back home. It's a 1987 International/Quality 1250/1250 pumper that used to serve in Modena, NY.

Well, long time, no post.  I don't head out and about much anymore but when I do, I go a long ways.  This month, Jim Kus and I visited St. Maarten, N.A. for some aircraft and fire truck photos.  We walked about 3 miles to the Princess Juliana Int'l Airport and I was able to weasel our way onto the airfield.

First up at their fire station was this 1996 E\-One Titan 1800/2500/320F/500DC    Job#15697.

Being a Dutch country, it stands to reason they'd have a Kronenburg.  This one is a 1996 Kronenburg MAC-11 2000/2500/400F/500DC as Unit 3.

Next up, after another 2 mile hike, is the St. Maarten Fire Dept.  They now only have one station but have some really nice budget conscious rigs.  It is used to carry a variety of roll-off containers used for specific fire-rescue missions.  It's a 2002 Iveco.
