01/03/13 New Haven, CT - A box alarm was received shortly after 10:30 this morning reporting a fire at Campbell Auto. The west side battalion chief reported via the radio that he could see it from the training academy and that companies would be going to work. First in Engine 11 found a 1 story commercial auto body shop heavily involved. Companies went to work with master streams and proceeded to darken down the heavy fire. The fire was fueled by four autos as well as numerous chemicals within the building. The blaze took firefighters about an hour to bring under control. The cause of the blaze is believed to be a kerosene heater.

Could that be considered on the outskirts of the city. Looks like 11 Engine is aloost operating from one city to another.
You are correct. The fire is about 500ft from the City line with West Haven.

Great Pics
Great shots.
Thanks for sharing.
Nice work, kinda looks like HDR.
Kev,
Glad you liked the photos. You are correct I add a little touch of HDR to my photos. It makes the detail pop.
The Training School is less than a 1/2 mile away on the Blvd heading down towards I-95 and the harbor inlet.
The first alarm assignment for this box should have been Engine 11, Engine 9, Engine 4, Squad 2, Emergency 2 and Truck 2. Glenn was a "22" (2nd alarm) struck for the box or was Truck 1 special called?
No 2nd on the box. Truck 1 first due- Truck 2 off duty at the training school.
Just wondering, what do New Haven's Emergency Units do? (EMS type Medic flycar?).....Firefighters or?
