The Victorian city of Melbourne's Metropoletian Fire Brigade run several of these 'water tankers'. They are used to mainly [background=rgb(249, 249, 255)]to fight grass and scrub fires, but can fight any kind of fire. It has a Gaam mk450 pump (1800L @ 700kpa) with 3000L and 300L of foam (A&<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />. Samford Valley Rural fire brigade have this beast of a 'heavy tanker' Its a MAN 4x4. Samford have a long history of building their own appliances rather than using appliances from the service. Has a 4000L tank and a Gaam pump set.

Chambers Flat Rural Fire Brigade have this Isuzu FTR900 heavy tanker. It holds approx 5000L water with a GAAm mk500 pump.

Rocky Point Rural Fire Brigade also have a heavy tanker the same as Chambers Flat's. It was built off the same specification.

Tallebudgera Valley RFB have this Isuzu 4x4 FTS750 Heavy Tanker. The body was remounted onto a new chassis several years ago.

Bonogin Valley have this 2002/3 Heavy tanker. It is an Isuzu FSR500 4x2 with 3000L. There are no set standards or designs for the heavy tanker with decisions made by each brigade.

Several of these 4x4 tankers served in QLD. They were designed with approx 2000L and most probably had a Gaam Mk450 pump. They are mostly for grass fires but with the before mentioned pumps serve at a house fire etc.
