Quote:I stopped to look at this pumper years ago before the paint turned "pink" - at one time you could read the lettering on the driver's door or hood and I recall that it said something about a State Hospital but I can't remember the name of the hospital. It may have said "Petersburg" or something similar.
Yes, there is a Central State Hospital (a mental facility) located in Petersburg, VA.

I found this truck a couple of weeks ago in Winston Salem, NC. I could not get any information off of it because of a downed tree blocking the drive. I believe it is from the Gretna FD in Virginia.

This 1974 Ward LaFrance, marked for South Butler, NY was found at a farm equipment auction lot in Seneca County, NY.  According to the data plate, it is a 1974, and has a 1250 pump.  Spec. No. 80-1038.  Anybody have a Ward list that has this one on it?  I'm  guessing it came from someplace else.

My list has 80-1038 as being sold to Rochester, NY.  It was delivered on 9/25/1974.

I'm guessing the 1974 "American" LaFrance at the bottom of the list refers to this truck.

The Marbletown Fire Department (also in Wayne County) also had a truck very similar to that several years ago.  Their truck was also acquired used.  Marbletown's truck was in very nice shape, so based on the proximity, that may be the same truck.

Is this Oceanside rig still in Suffolk, Va? I know some of their members are looking for it.

I found these two behind the Del Rio FD in Tennessee right after Christmas. I didn't get any information off them due to the weather.
