This 1977 IHC Fleetstar/Bean 750/750 used to serve at German Twp of South Bend IN. It's being used to sell boxes along US31 south of South Bend.

This old Duplex or Corbitt Howe pumper is sitting at a storage lot in Chandler IN. She's pretty rough <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stretcher.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stretcher' /> , but not beyond help. I have no idea where he served;all the lettering was long gone. Except for the 6 on the ladder rack though;I wonder could it be from Evansville E6???

I don't have a photo of the rig by itself, but here is a shot of Peabody Headquarters in the mid-eighties. On the side of the station you can see the Seagrave tractor of this rig sticking out. I'm pretty sure this is the same Peabody rig in the photos.

A 1974 Los Angeles County Ward waiting to be sent to auction. It has certainly lived a long and fruitful life as part of the LA County fleet.

Los Angeles County Fire, 1976 Crown Firecoach waiting for it's date at the auction block. I can only imagine the amount of fire fought and service she has provided in her 31 year career.

Looking at the 3 on the nose I think this served its last few years at the Training Academy as TRAINING 3....

I don't believe that those two Ambassadors are the same. Lots of detail differences. Different locations for the spotlights, warning lights and turn signals on the sides of the cab, different style lights on the cab face, tow hooks are painted on one, chrome on the other. One has crosslay hosebeds, the other has booster reels.

I agree guys, I think it may have been Training 3, but a different incarnation of Training Engine 3. Some are still being used for training as well as some Crowns. They seem to be able to keep them going. Some of the 1984 Van Pelts have already gone to auction with a few Crowns and Wards over the past couple months. In all fairness to the Van Pelts, one had frame issues and the other [2] had 215K+ miles one them. They got their monies worth.

It is not Training as depicted in your follow up photo. If you check out the LA County section of the Crown is King website...www.crownisking.com, it looks like at one time it was E-4 in the training pool. The bent front bumper gives it away.... If you look carefully, it is bent up on the Captain's side and level on the Engineer's side, just like the E-4 shows. I think it's a bit more then coincidence, what do you guys think?

I know the one I posted was a 1972 model vs the 1974 from the first post... I just ment IT SERVED as a TRAINING rig... the numbering is the same!

Found this old Maxim 100' Ladder marked for the Sign Works along AL Hwy 59 on the northside of Foley AL last year, Anybody know its history ?

Below are two rigs found behind the Pitman Center, TN Fire Dept. I believe they're owned by a towing company and the son of the fire chief seems to run the towing company. The two companies are side by side along the highway.



First is this Ex-Gatlinburg, TN Fire Dept. 1956 Ford F600 with Wrecker Body, Ex-Engine 7.



Second was this Ex-Gatlinburg, TN Fire Dept. 1957 Ford F800-American LaFrance 750-500 Pumper, Ex-Engine 1

I found this sitting in a parkinglot in Kennessaw, GA. All I know about it is that it's a Deptford Township, GA Fire Dept 1963 Ford F/Great Eastern 750 GPM Pumper.

I found this oldie sitting on the outskirts of a car lot along Hwy 515 near Jasper, GA. It was owned by the Big Canoe Property Owners Assn, a private community fire department in Georgia. All I know of it is that it's a 1958 GMC 870/American LaFrance 500 GPM Pumper marked Engine 2.
