Quote:Ok these are not the best photos, as they were taken at a live burn Training last weekend.
These are fine shots.

Sometimes, you have to get them as they are.

Managed to get out for some early Season buffing this year with grubber33270, the weather was not the best by any means for buffing at all but we still did good. We hit 4 Departments in Hennepin County that are not that easy to get into. Our first stop was Long Lake who happened to be at the station just finishing setting up for a pancake breakfast they are having tomorrow. We asked the Captain if he had any contacts in any of the M/A Departments in the area, we got in touch with a Firefighter from Maple Plain Fire Dept and advised us we could meet him at the Hall as soon as we were done with Long Lake. As soon as we got to Maple Plain, the Firefighter was standing outside with some bad news, he did not know there was a birthday party being held inside the Fire Hall so our choices were either skip M.P.F.D. or come back in an hour. We decided to head over to Loretto Vol Fire Dept just down the road and then come back after that. In Loretto we were met by the Fire Chief who pulled out all 5 of the Departments Apparatus.  After Loretto we went back to Maple Plain to see if the party was finished yet. Unfortunately it wasn't and we had to sit and wait for about an hour. After the party left the Firefighters working it pulled out nearly every piece of apparatus in the fleet. Our last stop of the day was pure luck as we did not have any contacts or know anyone who could help us get the Mound Fire Dept.

We will start the photos off with Mound MN Fire Department, they operate out of 1 Fire Station with 2 Engines, 2 Tankers, 2 Rescue, 1 Ladder, 1 Brush, 1 Utility, ATV, and a Boat. You will notice on the side of all of the Mound Fire Apparatus that the number does not match the same number as its Radio Designation. The number on the side of the truck is the number of trucks they have had since they became a Dept. For example, they just got a new Pumper/Tender from Midwest Fire and on the Side it is labeled E-40. on the radio it is actually Tender 11. The E-40 Stands for it is the 40th Vehicle the Department has purchased in the M.F.D. history.

Josh,

Clearly the Peterbilt tanker for Big Lake is a S&S, any idea on the Freightliner?

If you are looking at Mound E-40, it was built by Midwest Fire.  2010 FL M2 106/Midwest  1250/2000/20

Mound is a volunteer department, as is over 90% of Minnesota Fire Departments.

That is not a Career Department, they are Volunteer Paid on Call.
