Guys....  I've seen more and more of the new Dash CF's in photos.  I've noticed that they all seem to be PUC's.  Has any department spec'd one with a traditional pump setup?  Just curious.  Thanks!

At last word when I asked, Pierce was not offering the CF in a traditional; pump setup.....

Could have changed by now- that was a few months back....

Ha!  Well, that explains it then.  Can't see one if they aren't building them!!

Found this beauty while I was out doing some railroad photography this morning.  This was parked in a gated and locked lot.  It is Wharton, NJ's retired snorkel.  It appears to be in very good condition.  I saw no equipment left on it and no license plates so I'm assuming it's still owned by the town (or the FD) and that it may be up for sale or auction soon.  If anyone here knows the story please post it. 

 

Anyway, here are the details on this truck, taken from the WFD website:

 

1977 Pierce

75' Pitman platform

1000 GPM pump

 

Their new ladder truck is a mid-mount but I haven't been able to get any photos or information on it.

Wow! I know everyone always wants new, but unless there is a mechanical/safety issue or they were told they had to replace this, I'd have kept it around for as long as she'd go, that truck is beautiful!

 

Lindsay, how many stations do Cedar Hill and Frisco have respectively?

 

On a side note, it seems Pierce is a strong staple in Texas, it seems Siddons-Martin is really doing their job and selling some trucks!

Cedar Hill has 4 stations and Frisco has 7 with an 8th being scheduled to be built.

 

Pierce, indeed, has a big presence in Texas.
