Ingomar and Larimer each had a snorkel. Larimers went to Eastern Derry, PA and then headed south. It is now lime green. Ingomar may still own theirs.

Quote:3820 Big Flats, NY 1974 Century 1250/750 Greibleit was the first century off the line. Quote:What did the Interstate Special include? What was its purpose? Was it just a cheaper alternative?I don't have all the details on the Interstate Special, but here's how it was explained to me: ALF met with representatives from several large city FD's and came up with a pumper spec that all of them could work with. With the exception of paint and lettering, most Interstate Specials are identical, almost "cookie cutter", which most likely led to a discounted price. The basic concept came from the 80 Century New Yorker pumpers that were delivered to FDNY in 1981, but the Interstate Specials did not have 4 door cabs. |
