Rope Rescue in Portland - 7-24-13
#1
7-24-13, 05:48. 2-car MVA on Marine Drive, notorious for bad accidents.

Response: E30, 12, Truck 2, C3.

One car rolled over the embankment, stopping just short of the Columbia River. Both drivers transported with non life-threatening injuries. The driver in the rolled over car was packaged at the bottom of the embankment, then in a Stokes basket, was carried up the bank, assisted by a low-angle rope setup. I could not shoot the original setup because of people in the way.

Thanks Hank.Except for your comment, it's hardly worth all the time and effort it takes to post stuff here.

Always enjoy seeing the Portland work.  The variety of calls there makes me a little green with envy for my own departments.

Marine Drive definitely racks up some statistics. Appreciate the pics of the overall scene. Well done.
