Fair Oaks (old Navy-Vale) looked the Javelin to our replace our '70 ALF with a rescue engine. We passed on the Javelin and went with a Lance.

All the ones in Virginia did not handle well in snow.Sterling's became an Arrow,Centerville's became a Lance and Catlett's became a Dash if I remember correctly.I'm surprised they didn't make an all wheel drive version...

Terry; there was at least one Javelin done as a all-wheel drive rig but I don't think it ever made it to the Demo circuit or sold to a customer. I have photos of the cab and chassis somewhere in my files... I shot maybe 6-8 photos of it......

Actually, there was about 60 Javelin rigs made, 1990-94. Sterling,VA's was rebuilt with a new Pierce Arrow cab and new body in 1997.

As recently stated on a Euro buff site, one of Pierce's few fumbles...

A fumble yes..... but to give the chassis credit. All Crystal Palace did was add an engine tunnel to a Javelin cab shell to create the SABER cab. ...

 

Another fumble was the DART...... the original tilt-cab design before the DASH.

And our last stop of the day was at Salisbury House 2 in Wicomico County, where we would be staying the night at my neices house, this was all in preperation for the Md State Firemans Convention Parade the following day. This is another house i've been wanting to shoot. so lets get started. we ended up shooting 19 pieces just at this one house.
