Truck accident on Route 29 in Ellicott City, MD 10-2-14

Howard County Fire and Rescue extricated the driver of an overturned dump truck today. While driving northbound on Route 29 in Ellicott City a tire possibly blew out on the truck causing him to lose control of the truck loaded with dirt and rocks. It crashed into the median Jersey wall and overturned landing on top, crashing into the pole holding the road signs. It took over two hours to extricate him from the rig. He was then flown to Shock Trauma and listed in serious condition.

It was a long drawn out job. The truck had to be cut from around the cab compartment.

Howard, good to work with you yesterday - in my opinion, that's the way we should be, embracing people who want to shoot our scenes. Not chasing them off.

 

My shots can be found on Firehouse. I wish we'd have shared more than those, personally, but that's not my all...

 

I shot about 11 gigabytes worth (aproximately 1,940 shots); obviously, not all were great. I saved about 120 of them.

That was Howard and Doug who got the excellent shots, my crew and I were staffing Rescue Squad-17 covering a good portion of the County while most of our special services were committed to the incident.  Nice work Howard and Doug and thanks for posting!!
