We finished up the day at Lakeland, with John getting the platform that I shot last year at Station 1. Station 7, at the Lakeland Airport, would be our last stop.

After spending the night back at Ron's, my plan was to head for home early and shoot in south Georgia on the way, but a look at the weather forecast changed my mind. Ron suggested we shoot a few local rigs while we still had sunshine.

We decided to swing by the local E\-One dealer and found the Immokalee platform sitting in a spot suitable for a shot, however, the dealer was not open and it would have to be photographed through a chain link fence. After doing so, we were back in the car and about to leave when another car pulled in next to us. The guy got out and asked if we were there to pick up a truck. We explained what we were doing and he said that he needed to go inside and that we were welcome to get our shot as soon as he opened the gate, which we did. Great luck, as five minutes either way, we would have missed him!

Returning to The Villages, we tried again, for the third time, to get their new Rosenbauer mini pumper. This time, they were home.

I headed for home about 1 PM, running into rain just north of Ocala and staying in it for several hours. About the time I hit the FL/GA line, I saw a break in the clouds to the northwest and decided to head to Moultrie to get their new engine. It would be my final stop for the trip.

As always, a great spring tour of Florida. Thanks for the images!

I can understand the discrepanciy in the specs, as the guys at Lakeland were not sure, only guesstimating, but I'm confused about the differing SO numbers. I have compared photos of both and I agree that it's the same rig (or an identical twin!).
On Saturday, April 4th, I met up with longtime friend and Firepics member Jon Umbdenstock ("The Quiet One") for a 12 day venture that would see us photographing apparatus in both Carolina's, Georgia and Tennessee. We would be operating out of two timeshare locations he has, one in South Carolina and the other in Georgia. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and overcast skies were the norm, interrupted by bits of sunshine. Since Jon has not yet figured out how to post pics here, I'll show the rigs we found.
