And here was the truck I had come for.  This truck will be put up for sale sometime soon.  I couldn't let it slip away without getting a good shot of it first.  I was under the impression that this was a Young Bison, but from reading some older posts, apparently Young stopped making the Bison in 1976?  So does this truck have any special model name?

After leaving Station 5, we went to Station 3 in the Renfro community.  They house two engines here right now.  Once the Young is sold, the American LaFrance will go to Station 5 as "Engine 5" and the Ford will be "Engine 3"

Our last stop would be Station 1 in the Smalley Road community.  Here's the Tanker that's normally at Dry Fork (Sta. 4).  It was filling in for "Tanker 1" that's in the shop.  This was the first United Fire Apparatus truck I'd shot.

And last, but certainly not least is this truck.  I'm gonna need some mutual aid from some of you Texas FirePixer's on this one.  Apparently this once served somewhere in Texas and had a 12-12 Texas DOT Inspection sticker on the front window.  The only documentation we could find inside was a receipt from the NAPA auto parts store in Cleveland, TX.  Can someone help me with this one please?

The evening was fast approaching as I grabbed this as-is shot at Midtown-First District, TN on our way back towards home.  They just received this truck very recently and I'm not even sure if it's in any kind of service yet.  It was parked outside their station with nobody in sight.

Quote:We then ventured to Station 4 in the Dry Fork community where we found an old rig from Western NC!  I got into this hobby too late to shoot this truck in service at Fletcher.  It was replaced in the 2005 era, just as I was getting into the sport.  I was pretty happy to finally get a pic of it!

Dave, can you or someone else explain why this 1982 truck has a 1987 Saulsbury body?  or was it just a 1987 Saulsbury refurb of the existing body?  Seems like you or someone has explained it before, but I can't remember the details.

ALF #8145 shows on my list to be a 1985 chassis.  It may have taken until 1987 for final delivery.  Then again, I wasn't there.....

Nope, nothing special, just a Young on a Duplex D-350 chassis.

I'll send or post a shot of it at Collins Center in a couple weeks when I get home.

Andrew...what is the compartment just aft of the pump panel and above the first compartment on the drivers side on the Cherokee Smeals? Is it a brush pump or did they add a generator?

The design drawing for the Cherokee pumpers (found on the Smeal website) shows an auxiliary power unit inside that compartment.
