It is a nice looking ride. In VA only the Police can use Blue. Fire uses Red and White on the front.



I think DCFD uses about what every they want too!!

Yes there are. We make one order in 1997 for 31 pieces. At the time the largest order for Pierce for apparatus used by a fire department within the United States.



1 100ft Quint RM Platform

4 105ft Quints RM

14 75 ft Quints RM



All these are 2000 GPM Pumps, 200 gallon water tank and 50 gallon Class B foam tank on the Platform

The 75's have 500 gallon water tank and 30 gallon class B foam tank

The 105's have 300 gallon water tank and 30 gallon Class B foam tank

9 First Response Vehicle’s (Primary for EMS-and smaller outside incidents)

500 GPM Pumps, 500 water tank, 30 gallon Class B foam Tank



3 Heavy Rescues 500 GPM Pumps, 250 Gallon Tank

2007 - 1 95ft Quint MM 2000 GPM Pump 300 water tank due to go into service very soon

Plus we have 2 older Pierce Brush Units 350 GPM/300 Water Tank.



Since Richmond made the big move to Pierce, Henrico, Chesterfield Counties, around us and other departments within an 1 to 2 hours ride of Richmond has made large purchases of Pierces.





A new 14 bay service center has been open for about 6 months in the area.

Sounds like if you buy it, they (Pierce dealer) will come. That and the fact that depts around yours are also getting onto the bandwagon and also ordering Pierces. I wonder if any of those orders are tag on orders.

I think a lot of that varies from dealer to dealer. Here in Georgia, the former Pierce dealer was located in Birmingham, AL. They never put much into having a service center here, and they never sold many rigs here either. Having a service center nearby is important to FD's, regardless of who makes the rig. Since Ten-8 took over the area, they have established a decent service center in Forsyth, GA and are in the process of locating a larger facility. They are also selling rigs left and right:

I find it fascinating that Pierces would need any service centers for repairs, as good as the threads say that they are.

Dave, are the two for Macon-Bibb both engines? and are the two Warner Robins pieces both in service? I have a trip planned that way coming up soon, want to make sure hit these targets.

I didn't know exactly how many Pierce rigs Cobb Co. had recently gotten, nor how many were coming, so I didn't include them, but Cobb has been an excellent Pierce customer for many years, going back to T-19, the 6 Arrow pumpers and 14's Duplex/Pierce, as well as the old Snorkel at 10's.
