I was at the right place at the right time yesterday, as I was riding by BWI Airport, and heard Egyptian Air come over the scanner. So I pulled into The Observation Area and got Lucky as all hell This Hercules C-130 from Egypt came in. what made it so lucky is that this is the white version all others are sandy brown camaflouge. I'm told this is a rare bird on The East Coast. Just wish the weather would have been a little better.

I was out at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (KAZA) last weekend and came across DC-10 Tankers 911 and 912.

912 was parked just north of the passenger terminal, with APU running.  I didn't see any immediate activity around.

911 landed and taxied to the USFS Tanker Base on the south side of the airport.  It refilled with retardant and fuel and took off again about 30 minutes later, heading southeast (presumably to continue and support the Frye fire in Southeast Arizona).

While not your typical airshow, but an airshow in the tactical sense, I've been assigned down to southern AZ a few times this year, and seen the DC10 in action. Along with it, a few P2V Neptunes, BAE146, and C130. This is the last year for the Neptune airtankers. Here are a few pics. Hope they show from my phone. First, the DC10[Image: 8ce71ae055a23e3d2755e0753c9370fe.jpg]

I knew the Neptunes days were numbered, but hadn't heard this was their last year. They are my favorite, so kind of fitting that they will go out the same year I do.

Are you in Mayer, AZ? I just got home from the Goodwin fire and was just up the road from there. The ICP was in Dewey at the middle school.

I thought I had posted these but apparently not, or at least not in this thread.
