I believe one is a cover for the electronic siren. Federal signal offers that as an option.
Ah ok, that's makes a lot more sense!
Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company of Newark, Delaware has this 1993 Pierce Arrow Squrt. 2000 gpm, 750 water, and 55' squrt. Squrt 7.
No. The pumper from Rockville has 2 mechanical Q's on it. One with a guard, one without. Look at post #35. That quantam shows the Q mechanical cover over an electronic speaker. A very obvious difference.
In post #39 there is a truck with 2 Q's as well. I don't get it either. One should suffice. Must be for the northeast fire company pissing match parade. Who can have the most lights or make the most noise......common sense be damned.
The mechanical shroud IS an option for the electronic siren. I review all of the specs for the the apparatus in the county where I volly before they're sent out to prospective bidders, and the engine that's 2nd due to my house looks like it has two Q's, but it doesn't. One is a Q, and one is a flush-mount siren speaker with a mechanical siren shroud over it. The fire company wanted to 2-Q look...
