Yesterday at the Firefighter's Combat Challenge event held at the Factoria Square Mall parking lot in Bellevue, WA on an overcast and smoky day, BFD Light Force 7 showed up with a spare 2001 Spartan 106 foot LTI TDA and......
a spare 1998 H&W 1500X500 engine marked as Pumper 7. Both units are awaiting new rigs, one a 2014 Pierce Velocity 100 foot TDA and the other a new replacement for 27472-01 which was a 2014 Pierce Arrow 1750X500 engine before it was wrecked while being delivered. The replacement engine was built in 2015 and should be in service shortly.
Renton Fire and Emergency Services recently put two new engines into service. Shown here is Engine 11. The other went to Engine 13. They are identical 2015 E\-One's. The specs are similar to the other engines in Renton. They have 1500gpm pumps and 500gal water tanks. The motors are a bit smaller than those in earlier engines.
These new engines have 100ft of 1.5" hose in the bumper. The rear facing seats in the cab have been replaced with storage that is accessed from the outside of the cab. The cab vista windows have been removed as the area behind them provides additional storage. Backboard storage is now under the pump operator's platform and is accessible from either side of the vehicle.
September 25, 2015 a LODD Memorial service was held for Renton Firefighter Donavan Eckhardt who died on August 24 after a hard and courageous battle against cancer.
Zone 3 firefighters from south King County took part in a procession which started at Renton Fire Station 11 and continued on to the New Life Church in Renton, WA.
