The Evergreen VFD was recently merged with Prince William County, with the County assuming administrative operations (a 24 hour engine company has been staffed for several years, now in addition to a 24 hour tanker).  The County is currently figuring out which apparatus will be kept, what is kept will be re-lettered.

 

Engine 515B is the back-up pumper, it used to be run as a rescue engine.  There are talks of this one going.

Ambulance 515 is a 2009 International/Excellance.  Will probably become a County reserve unit.

 

   

 

Utility 515 was converted into a Command unit by FastLane last year.  Not sure what the outcome of this unit will be.

Stonewall Jackson is a single station company located right outside of the City of Manassas.  Truck 511 is this 2003 Pierce Lance, 105', equipped with All Steer.  This truck is on it's last legs, a new Pierce is being specced by Stonewall.

Foam Engine 501 is a 2001 Pierce Quantum, 1500/1000/100/300# PK.  Taken at a house fire in Bristow last year.

This 2013 Rosenbauer Commander, 101', is run as Tower 501.

Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) 501 is this 2012 Kawasaki that was part of a regional COG order.

Manassas Fire and Rescue is in the process of speccing a new rescue engine.  When that is delivered, this 1996 Spartan Gladiator/American Fire & Rescue will be sold.  Rescue 501 is staffed 24/7 by the Manassas career staff.  The large white 'Z' above the rear officer door is in memory of a member who died from cancer.

Manassas Rescue runs four ambulances, three Ford F's (501B, 501C, and 501D), and a newer International Terrastar (501).

Medic 509B from Manassas Park is a 2009 Ford F-450/PL Custom.

Manassas Park also took delivery of a 2012 Kawasaki as part of a regional COG order.  A Stryker stretcher is carried in the back.

From the Antioch station, Medic 524 recently had the front bumper wrapped in Chevrons and the wheel covers removed.  This unit will go into reserve this summer with the delivery of a new (and red) medic unit.

From the Gainesville station, Rescue 504 is a 2006 Pierce Dash that was formerly owned by the Gainesville District VFD.  R504 was the first 24 hour staffed specialty piece in the County.

Medic 504 is a new 2013 International/2015 Wheeled Coach.  This and M520 ("Prince William Commons") are the first County medic units with the community name on the doors.  These units are equipped with the Stryker Power-Load system, absolutely great.

 

Four medic units on order, slated for M508 (Yorkshire), M524 (Antioch), M525 (Bristow), and M526 (Bacon Race, station under construction).

Safety Officer 505 recently received a new 2015 Chevy/FastLane, this unit runs from FS 4 in Gainesville.

A couple of OWL support units that I've found on the West end of the county.  Maintenance 512 when delivering nozzles and AC 512 on a West end call.

From Buckhall (located outside of Manassas) is Tanker 516, a 2004 Spartan Gladiator/S&S, 1000/3000/40.  Taken at a rural water fire in Nokesville.

The Dale City and OWL VFD's have teamed up to purchase and maintain two units, including Truck 518.  This 1989 E\-One Hurricane, 110', was purchased used from Wissahickon, Pennsylvania.  Primarily used as an East end reserve ladder truck, on this day it was running as Truck 511.

Also taken at the house fire in Nokesville was the County's Fire Marshals Investigations unit.  Formerly was used by the Logistics division.  This one doesn't get out too often.

New in the County is Battalion Chief 591, this 2015 Chevy Suburban/FastLane.  During daytime hours, this unit runs as BC 501.  On nights and weekends, it is operated as BC 591.  Stationed at FS 24, BC 591 is the only Career 24 hour BC.

I'll finish up this installment with a variety of units at the Training Academy located in Nokesville.

 

Engine 591 is this sharp 2008 Pierce Arrow XT, 1500/750/40/40.  Can be used as a fill in as needed.  One of my favorites in the County.

 

   

 

 

Medic 519 is 2007 Chevrolet/Med-Tec that was purchased with a federal grant.
