$24 Million Fire in Portland - 2-29 to 3-4, 2016
#1
Sorry for the delay. I have been under the weather.

On Monday, Feb. 29, at 22:28, a box was transmitted for a fire at the Sundance Marina at 570 NE Tomahawk Island Drive. A few minutes after Chief Heesaker arrived he transmitted a 2nd alarm at 22:37. When the 75,000 sq. ft. metal building was heavily involved, a 3rd alarm was transmitted at 22:53. The building stored about 350 boats, stacked 4 high. Since the danger of collapse was high,

no firefighters were allowed inside the building. After 40 minutes, with little progress, a 4th alarm was transmitted. A large showroom that was connected to the main structure was only slightly damaged.

Companies were on the scene for several days extinguishing hot spots.

Great photos and narrative Dick. Are the new fireboats in service? And did they put the new boats at Stations 6 and 17? Thank you.

Nice work again Dick.   Are you coming to New Orleans in August for IFBA?

Doubtful, especially since August and Louisiana spell humidity. Smile

Nice set!  What was burning that causes that red hue like that?  And, are the walls glowing/melting in those images?

The red hue may be from the apparatus lights. Yes the metal wall was glowing red.
