An unusual item recently sent to auction by SFD was a 1940 Ford, Howard Cooper 500 GPM pumper with a 400 gallon water tank. It was first assigned to Fire District 5 from 1940 to 1954 when the City of Seattle expanded to the north to 145th Street, and SFD absorbed three King County Fire Districts.

Some time during 1984 after restoration it was turned over to Explorer Post 511 to be used as a training rig.

Kent Regional Fire Authority's spare 1996 Smeal HME ladder truck acting as L46 while the new 2015 Pierce dual tandem axial TDA remains out of service for repairs.
L46 was struck by another vehicle while operating at the scene of an MVA.
Just checking to see if this site is still active. Have not seen a post since April.
During May I visited Bend, OR and Coeur d' Alene, ID and managed a few photos.
At Bend, old Engine 1/323 is now in reserve. |
