Beaverdam, NC (now Reems Creek Station 17) "Former Engine"
1960 Ford F-600/American LaFrance 500/500 Now privately owned in Canton, NC Andrew Messer Photo Quote:Johnson City, TN "Truck 3" Yes, this was placed on order for Downers Grove and was either rejected or some reason they failed to go through with the purchase. It was placed in service to replace the aging Ladder 5 that was the 105' Grumman AerialCat. There were literally pieces falling off the Grumman and it was down more than it was ever up in service. The new designations came with the new chief, Mark Scott. Truck 3 was originally assigned to Station 5; however, a few of the rich people on the north end of town complained because this truck would not fit through the tunnel on Knob Creek. Station 5 is the one above Target and is first due at the First Tennessee Bank on N Roan which is the tallest building in town. However, the higher ups caved in on the request and moved Truck 1 to Station 5 and placed Truck 3 at Station 4, which is the second due station to First Tennessee Bank. This was also purchased in hopes of eventually going to a Quad/Quince setup at most stations, but I believe that fell through due to funding. Quote:Johnson City, TN "Engine 6" This was rebuilt at Station 3 in hopes of returning it to front line service at that station; however, the chief moved it to Station 6 once the decision was made to change from the manpower system. MP29 is no longer, BTW. Also, there are hopes to add a Station 10 on the north end of town near Roan and Oakland and Kingsport Hwy sometime in the coming years. Quote:Town of Mosheim, TN "1108"Technically, Baldwin Independent is in Baldwin Borough, a suburb of Pittsburgh, not the city itself. Quote:Eden, NC "Ladder 1"This is a 1992 I believe. It is on the Grumman/HME chassis not the Duplex. Quote: Wonder the back story on this. I do know they did ultimately take delivery of a Smeal... http://www.illinoisfiretrucks.com/CHICAG...-xcTjC3d/A Quote:Johnson City, TN "Truck 3"This one is actually a Spartan Evolution, the one Downer's Grove got, is a Smeal Sirius.
