You asked for it, Frank! I have so many more pictures. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Blink' />

I'll get to posting again when I'm a little more awake. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bombed.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Bombed' />

Gray served alongside another Gray. At the time, Marion Fire Department's Aerial No. 1 was a 1948 American LaFrance 700 Series 85-foot Aerial, Model No. 7-85-AJO, Reg. No. L-3727.

I'm not sure who the original photographer of this picture is. Special thanks to Steve Hagy for running across it and sending it along. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Just as a bit of a history lesson, the 1948 American LaFrance ended-up in-service for Bluffton Fire Department in Bluffton, Ohio. And painted, too, eek!

Three years ago, we were told that the truck was still at the station and used in local parades. Only after going there were we told that the truck had actually been sold off a good time before that! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bitch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I don't suppose anyone knows where this truck is now...? The firefighter I last spoke with in Bluffton said he thought it had gone to a private party in Lima, Ohio.

Wow, Good memories! My Aunt and Uncle lived in Marion back in the 1940’s and I remember seeing these when we visited there. I said that I have never seen a fire truck that wasn't red!!

Good to see them again and know that someone has the gray ghost.

Lynchburg and Roanoke, VA both has battleship gray apparatus in the 1950’s and ‘60’s. It was very unusual to see that color too.

Is that to keep you from drooling on it, Trina? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

A much younger (and blurrier, sorry about that) me learning how to drive Ole Gray. Round and round and round the school parking lot, hehehe. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

That towel is too nice for me to drool on! Good thinking, though, Jay. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Lol' />

Jason:

I just sent you a PM with some information about the hauling company I used, recommended by guys in our club who have used them with their transport needs. I highly recommend using them. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I also have a trucking company that I've used for most of our long hauls if you'd like their phone number. We used them to haul an ALF from New York and another ALF from Pennsylvania.

Let's see how long I can keep this picture on here without someone coming after me. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Ph34r' />

Well, with the persuasion of a couple of its peers, Ole Gray made its first appearance of the season at a car show today. It won an award for "Best Special Interest" vehicle, too!

It was hard to take pictures the way we were parked, but here are a couple I managed. The first two are of Ole Gray with the Crown, the third is of our Fire Department's 1946 Queen City Ford (Engine 12, which is still in reserve status), and the last is of someone's kid again ... Me. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
