Quote:and finally Engine 40's Rig, this was taken when it was in reserve status
A little history on the rig pictured in POST #1958. It's a 2003 American LaFrance, built on a Metropolitan chassis with an Eagle cab front. It was initially an ALF demonstrator model built in anticipation that SFD would place another order for more units after the initial order of eight engines was completed. After delivery to SFD in 2005, it was assigned as a training engine, designated as E52 and pictured above parked behind station 14. When the Joint Training Facility was completed in 2006, it remained in the training division assigned at JTF as Engine 52. It was finally activated into front line service on 09-1-06, and assigned as E 40. In January 2017, it was reassigned to the reserve fleet.

Last month SFD E40's 2003 ALF was reassigned to the reserve fleet and replaced with a 2007 E\-One Cyclone II SO #132999, SFD apparatus #75425, which was formally assigned to E10.

This rig was shortly reassigned to Engine 16 to replace their E\-One Cyclone which was totaled in a collision with Ladder 9 and Engine 40 received a new Pierce Enforcer.
Another SFD change, L9 has been assigned apparatus 35347 (aka 0-5347), a 2000 E\-One HP 100' reserve rear mount formally assigned to L5. L9's rig is being evaluated after being involved in a MVA with E16.
