Question for you West Coast guys, what was the county buying in between the Ward LaFrance days and the KME era? I've seen some Van Pelts and Simon-Duplex online but not a whole lot in between Emergency and the modern rigs.

The 80s and 90s seems to have been kind of a hodgepodge of brands as one after another longtime builder went away. There were quite a few ALF and Seagrave rigs purchased in the 80s, then in the 90s, it seems like they were shopping around the newer builders as you see a mix of Pierce, Spartan, KME as well as some of the more established brands like Duplex and Seagrave.

I was at KME in Pennsylvania last month for the final inspection on my department's 95' mid mount tower ladder. Saw several of these cabs under construction - I believe they are for LA County. Can any West Coast guys confirm? Quote:http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii55...ysebtq.jpg LA County does have 20 engines on order http://kmefire.com/info/newswire/los-ang...hooses-kme
