Well here's some more Dave. I've got plenty more, but my new 60hr a week job keeps me off the internet. This 1978(I believe) Ambassador 100ft Maxim RM only served frontline at Terre Haute IN until 1993. I know for a fact it was a reserve when I moved out here in 1996. Unfortunately, back then Terre Haute stored their reserve apparatus in closed firehouse's, so getting pics of them was very difficult. I finally got a grab shot of this old aerial in a truck lot in 2001;it was gone shortly there after.

Here's another one of those very late Wards, with no WLF markings on them. There seem to have been a few of those in New England HUH? This was still the frontline aerial at Biddeford ME HQ back in 1993. It's a 1980 100ft'er. Was this still around when you were up there Dave?

I can't locate this one on my list, but it could be a 2100 Series rig or listed as a Maxim rig. That Spec Number sure would have helped on this one, but I do appreciate the pic.

Here's one from my collection that I know nothing about. It's a John Floyd pic from Lakewood NJ. It's obviously an LTI,my guess would be 1250/250/85ft??? Also that doesn't look like WLF bodywork to me;am I correct?

Not at the station I visited. The matching pumper was already out of service, but still in the back yard. It carried a Maxim (87 Series) number and I suspect that the ladder did too.

What are the 2100series rigs again? Also Terre Haute did have a number of Maxim's over the years, so it maybe listed as a Maxim;or could it be another one of those Indy area demo's?

Smithtown LINY had this 1970 WLF 1000/1000 rebuilt by RD Murray in 1989. I shot it,still in frontline service at Engine Co3, in 1993.

Here is Yosemite Engine 7 from a similar angle, you can compare the two to see if they are the same. The engine came to Yosemite in the early 90's and the only changes made have been the light masts and the replacement of the beacon with a light bar.

St James LINY had this 1973 Amabassador 1500/500 in service until replaced by a Pierce(imagine that,a Pierce on LI <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> ) in 1993. I actually ran into this rig heading north on the ME Turnpike around Portland not long after it sold. Can anyone tell me where it may have gone;I was never able to find out?

It's a 1977, #80-1299. The bodywork appears to be LTI (Connestoga) and I agree about the 85' height. I have no other info, maybe someone else does.

What are the 2100series rigs again?

I don't have all the info on the 2100 Series, but I have identified 9 rigs with Spec Numbers from 2102 to 2172, all built in 1978-1980.

The list shows #80-546 was delivered to St. James on 1/29/71.

Mehlville LINY's 1976 Ambassador 1500/500.

According to Melville's website, this is a 1978 1250 GPM pumper. Melville had three Ambassador pumpers, a 1970, a 1972 and this one. My list doesn't show this one. Could be another 2100 Series rig.

I could very well be mistaken on some of those LI rigs. I got the info off many of them as they were going by in line of march.

No biggie, Frank, I still appreciate the pics, we'll figure out the info as we go! The WLF Database is still growing and many blanks are getting filled in, thanks to guys like you that share what they have.

Purchased used by Terre Haute. Can you confirm?

Biddeford's ladder is indeed a 1980 Maxim

Did New Albany have more than one? I visited New Albany IN in 1998 and they still had an Ambassador RM in reserve.

While I can't confirm that the former L-2 went to Terre Haute, I can account for there still being one in New Albany if it did.

Ok so the next time I go to Terre haute I'll have to find an old timer and ask about that RM.
