I had made tentative arrangements to photograph a new rig at the Lehigh Valley International Airport the next day, but woke up to heavy thunderstorms rolling through the area.  Dan and I went to a leisurely breakfast at his favorite place in Kutztown.  The rain had eased up by the time we were done.  The Chief had told me that he only had approval for me to come on that day, so Dan and I headed that way.  When we got to the gate, it had rained so much that the phone there was full of water and no longer worked.  I called the Chief's office from my cell and got no answer.  I flagged down an airport worker to tell him about the gate phone and to see if he could contact the Chief, which he did.  By the time we got to the ARFF station the rain had stopped.

Since the clouds were breaking up, I called my contact at East Allen Township and arrangements were made.  Dan didn't want to go, so he drove back to his place so I could get my car.  As the day progressed, the weather improved.
