A single new truck in added to the fleet in 1968, a tanker for Station 5. This 1968 Ford is added to provide improved protection due to the number of large new homes being built on larger lots, outside of the urban areas.
Station 7 acquires a ladder in 1969. With no spare ladder on the department, it is pulled from station 7 to fill in the other ladders when required. Ladder 7 is a 1969 International. The Thibault aerial was drawn by Ladder13
Former Tanker 3 becomes the first reserve tanker, with Station 8 becoming home to the spare tankers. If the spare tanker is in the station, the volunteers at station 8 also use it as a second tanker for fire calls.
1972 brings a new Station 1 to replace the cramped older station. Station 1 becomes department headquarters and the Prevention and Dispatch offices move here as well.
