06/16/21 Winnipeg MB major gas leak

at around 10:30 Engine 101, Engine 5, Rescue 5, Ladder 1, and District chief 3 got toned out for a gas leak in the middle of downtown. when they got on scene they found that construction workers had severed a large gas line. due to the size of the gas line, the IC requested hazmat to respond. Rescue 9, Hazmat 9, Hazmat 7 (Canacled before arrival), Engine 103, Medical supervisor 74, ambulance 40, and safety 5 were added. Platoon chief 1, and deputy chief 57 also responded. Manitoba Hydro was able to shut down the line and crews waited for the gas to dissipate. the call lasted just shy of 3 hours.
