My next shot can be found in the "Once is not enough" thread, of the L.T.I. tower from Silver Creek, NY that came from Woodlawn, NY.  It was replaced at Woodlawn by a new 100' Ascendant platform and I wanted a pic of my own.  After my contact at Silver Creek made a call, I was on my way to Woodlawn, about 25 minutes away.  When I arrived, my contact was there, but no Ascendant.  When I asked, I was told that it had been wrecked and would be out of service for a while.  Bummer!  They did have two newer pumpers than my last visit, so I shot them.

My next stop was at the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation.  I had stopped on a previous day, but could not find anyone around.  This time, I was lucky.

The next morning was also nice and my final day of shooting before heading south.  I began at Ripley, NY, as they have a newer tanker that I had not yet gotten.  There were also two rigs at their South Ripley station that I needed.  I had left my contact info on their FB page, but had not heard from them.  No one was around and I hung around for about 15 minutes to see if anyone came by, but it didn't happen.  I moved on to Fuller Hose in North East, PA, about 3 miles west.

While I was taking the shot of the Fuller engine, my phone rang.  It was the Chief at Ripley.

After taking the shot of the tanker, I inquired about the South Ripley station and was told where to find the guy who could help me out.  Once I found him, we agreed to meet up at 3 PM.  I still had over three hours to kill, so I continued on my target list, back in Pennsylvania. AS I arrived at Erie Station 13, two reserve pumpers were leaving the station empty, so I followed them. They were going to the shop to swap back into their new Pierce. When we arrived at the shop, the new E-13 was sitting outside, but 180 degrees from where I needed it and they parked the other two pumpers next to it. They told me it would take about 30 minutes to swap everything over, so I told them I would go shoot the new E-6 and come back, but they told me E-6 would be at the shop in a few minutes.

While waiting, I spotted this rig sitting between a big trailer and a reserve Sutphen pumper that I had shot years ago.  I asked the mechanics about it and was told that after being retired as a reserve, there was a plan to put it in the museum, but those plans fell through.  Then there was a plan to modify it into a funeral caisson, but that never happened either.  They said it ran fine when they parked it, about 4 years ago........  I shot it where it was.

By now, it's after 2 PM and E-13 is still not ready for a pic.  Their normal reserve rig, E-13X, was also ready to leave the shop, so they had to swap all the stuff from an old KME (E-1X) to E-13, and an older KME (E-6XX) to E-13X.  It was almost 2:30 before they moved it for my shot.
