I have wanted to photograph this engine for many years.  It was purchased many years ago and has not been in service in quite some time.  Every time I have visited, it was parked in a back corner of the station, behind other apparatus and had dead batteries.  As I passed through town on my way to Manchester, I glanced down the street where the FD sits, just a block off the main drag.  Three quick right turns later, I stepped out of the car and snapped this shot!

Given the uncommon designation of this apparatus, a brief explanation is warranted.  While the rig itself is not unusual, it is crewed by a Captain and a Firefighter and responds to their assigned District on all calls, to back up the responding station(s) for command, manpower, and certain specialized equipment.  Walton County is divided up into three Districts, with one of these in each District.  All three are similar trucks purchased used from a local utility company.

My next two stops were Madison (110' Pierce Ascendant) and Morgan County Station 16 (FLM2-106/E One), but both were back at the dealer for teething issues.  I did get to shoot three of Morgan County's old Fire Knockers that were sitting across from the station.  Replacements for these are in the works.  For many years, Station 16 (HQ) was the only staffed station in the county, but recently Stations 4, 8 and 9 have been staffed.
