Sitting next door to Gordon County Station 1 were four of these pumpers, #14697, 14698, 14699 and 14700, recently removed from service.  They were placed in service back in 1989 at four rural, low call volume stations, staffed only by Volunteers.  They appear to be in quite good condition for their age.  Since I had never actually seen them before, I photographed one.

Much has happened and many apparatus have been photographed since my last post.  I am just getting caught up enough to get back to posting.  On September 6th, I traveled to Hilton Head Island, SC to meet up with The Silent One for a week of apparatus photography.  The weather was cooperative all week and we only encountered rain on the evening of the 7th.  We were able to photograph the vast majority of the targets on our lists.  On the way to meet Jon, I made a few stops.  This first rig, located in Bellville, GA, is now part of the Claxton, GA Fire Department.
