On the way up north to my hometown, the weather was horrible, but there were a couple breaks where I attempted to get some pics.  The first was Coal City, WV.  While it was not raining when I shot two rigs there, it was overcast and the results were not to be proud of.  The Chief told me they had another rig in the shop and another tanker at an unmanned station 14 miles away.  He suggested that I stop again on my return trip south, because the one rig should be back and the tanker was going to be moved to the main station in October.  So I did, but neither thing happened.  It was a much nicer day, so I re-shot the two rigs and will post those pics when I get that far.  My next stop was Bradley-Prosperity.  It was raining again before I left there, but I got 4 rigs.

For many years, BPFD ran a command post unit as part of their P.O.D. (Platform On Demand) system, using an International 4x4 hook/lift truck to carry the various bodies they had.  In addition to the CP Pod, x- US Army, they had a small tanker Pod and a brush truck Pod.  I previously photographed the CP on the International transporter.  Recently, the CP Pod was mounted permanently onto this 1993 Nissan UD chassis.  Repainting and re-lettering are planned.

The Bradley-Prosperity FD is always in transition.  This rig was recently purchased from nearby Mabscott, WV and will be wrapped in black in the near future.

Back in 1999, I photographed one of a set of twin pumpers from Seaside Heights, NJ at a parade in Phillipsburg, NJ.  Years later, I photographed the same rig in Mayville, NY, but it took me a while to determine if it was the same rig or the twin, as I did not have all the information on the first rig.  One was sold to Wysox, PA and the other to Mayville.  On this trip, I photographed the other one and now know for sure that the Mayville rig was the same one I shot in 1999.  The ironic thing is that the twins are now serving less than 20 miles from each other.
