1961 Mack C-95
I'll wedge a little 700 Series between those two workhorses one of these days. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
Whereas that sounds nice, I don't know if the B-85 & C-95 will tolerate an ALF. Although they get along together fabulously, the Macks are not usually too fond of an interloper of this type-especially when they are working.

These two Bulldogs might bare their collective fangs and their Thermodynes growl & snarl if a 700 was to get near either of them. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Wow, you put a lot of thought into that one, Lindsay. Bravo. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Lol' />

I have confidence our little "J" V-12 could hold its own. Although at the rate I'm going with the 1951 ALF, it could be seeing a Detroit Diesel or Cummins Diesel Engine in its future. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wacko' />

Not too much thought was put into that-it just came to me naturally. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I quite agree that the little "J" V-12 could hold its own. If per chance one of the diesels is in the future, you might as well go whole hog and put in an Allison Automatic, power steering and air brakes.

If that is not in the plans, then maybe a trip to Mackville would be an option-nah! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

That still remains to be seen, but I think a 700 Series with a Detroit Diesel and a Fuller RoadRanger 10-speed would be too much fun to drive.

Whatever is wrong with the V-12 could be something as simple as a bad fuel pump, but with my luck, I somehow doubt it. If there's one thing my Dad can't fix for me, it's an engine that I've broken. I need to continue pondering what could've happened between having the carburetors rebuilt and changing out the spark plugs. I love these engines, but I hate them at the same time. It must've been too much change for it in its old age!

With the trials and tribulations of the V-12, that future trip to Mackville might not seem so bad. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Mack(ville) is a good alternative, well other than Crown.

Lindsay, I was at the garage, and forgot the pics of the remaining Mack ( CF ) we have. I might be over there tomorrow and will try to get some.

Hey, I'm not shopping for alternatives! LOL.

A Mack or another Crown, hmph. I'd at least have to make the old man proud and bring home one of his Wisconsin-built Peter Pirschs; that is, if I ever got to the point of being so delirious that replacing one of the 700s sounded like a good idea. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_crazy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Icon_crazy' />

I've heard alot of good things about Pirsch's but just couldn't get into them, a little boxy for me, but did see one just recently on E-Bay, this '76 showed up and looked really nice despite the boxy cab look. I'm spoiled by Mack and Crown's.

You feel their power, don't you? One like either of these might not be such a bad thing. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I don't think the thread had been sullied by the posting of Old Gray. I think what does need explaining is the lack of a hat and you in your stocking feet. That may be what the masses want to be apprised of. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

I think your the first person that I've ever seen hug a fire truck, nice pic, little koo koo kooky, ( just teasing ), but nice.......no hat and stocking feet, try that in a couple of months <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />

I think my Dad was wondering the same thing.

All I can offer as an explanation is I must've had more important things on my mind. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

I hope the Mack is prepared to pique my interest in a couple of days. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />
