<img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/22_yikes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='22_yikes' /> Well there's a familiar pic from 12 years ago! Either John Floyd or myself took that back on May 6,1995.

Thanks!

Squad 47 also ran a 1968 GMC Bruco Identical to this unit that PGFD purchased from Lynchburg Va in the early 1980's.47's squad was very hard to miss with the lower compartments on the body painted green

Accokeek's first engine, this picture has to be from 1932 when Accokeek VFD was started.

This engine is a converted Cadillac,I'm told.

I can remember my father talking about this unit, although,I think this unit was long gone even when he joined there in the 1950's

You are correct, what I meant was that those trucks are now in the reserve fleet. Some are still being used today. I know 25 is using one of them, not sure where it used to be stationed at but it is still in use.

I could be mistaken, but I think the truck that 25 is using or was using is a 1989 Seagrave that started as Truck 21,then when 21 got the E1 Tower it became Truck 10,now where it went between 10 and 25 I'm not sure.I have also heard that the same truck is also said to be Truck 19 which is the Former Truck 39.

If anyone knows the real story please post the info.

Clinton VFD

My son brought this picture to my attenion, this is one of the picture's on the box that Clintons First Gear Collectible comes in of thier "One of a Kind" 1976 Kenworth/Pierce.

I think this picture is from Curtis Dr. in 29's first due.

With 2 5" intakes and 2 5" supply lines you can not deny that Water Supply 25 delivered "Big Water"!They were and still are a fixture at every 2 or more alarm fire in P.G.county!

Even though this piece is being retired,I know that 25 will still be in the "Big Water" buisness, and continue to serve the county with the only consistant "Water Supply Unit"!

Accokeek VFD

1966 Ford C-1000/Young Custom Pumper--Engine 242

This picture contains 2 of the first 4 female volunteer fire fighters in PG county aboard 242 returning from a barn fire in Waldorf 1977.

The blurry picture was taken by me and the 2 lady fire fighters were my Mom,Myra Frye and my Aunt Flossy Montgomery.

242 does not have the Accokeek lettering on the side because it was never put back on this unit after body work from a accident that happened in late 76 or early 77.This unit was never lettered for the "KeeK" again,it,along with its twin 241 were sold to Mayer,Arizona in early 1979 as 24 placed the 1978 Mack CF's in service.Does anybody remember "Pride and Joy"?

WOW!

Not sure why it posted the same picture twice, and did not post the text,

but, anyway,on this night 12/24/77,as I,not yet a fire fighter, was riding in the Chief's car,I gave my 110 camera to the forgotten fire fighter from 24,Mr.Joe Woodall to take some pics as we( Car 24 and 246 pulling Santa's Sleigh) proceeded up a private road off of Rt 228.Back then bottles of hard stuff were handed out on Christmas eve and a good time was had by all! That was the reason for going up so many private driveways out of the first due!
