This piece now runs at the Lower Mahantango Fire Department in Dalmatia, Northumberland County, Pa (not to far away from Millersburg)... last time I was there they were talking about replacing it... haven't gotten up to see if they did or not. Funny story behind this piece... I wanted pics of it and so went into thier bar (I think every fire department in Northumberland County has a bar) and found a guy. He opened up the bay door and said I could take all the pics I wanted.. he also went on to say that if I wanted it pulled outside, I would have to do it myself because he was in no shape to drive. I lived a good 2 and a half hours from there and wanted pics of it.. so I pulled it out, posed it and put it away and left... certainly ranks up there with my most interesting photographing stories!
Dave, I think they got rid of that tanker. 2 years ago at Halifax's Firemens Carnival, I saw Dalmatia with what looked like a either a Freightliner or an International four door cab. It may have been there engine, but I thought I saw "Tanker 62" on it.
