Are you looking to ghet photos of the "NEW" Engine becuase that is at station 2 therfe is a parking lot right next to the station. I am not sure about Station 3's parking I think there is plenty of on street because it is in a quite area.
Reply
Plenty of parking at all three stations. Headquarters has a big lot behind the station. Station 2 has some parking to the left of the ramp and station 3 has on street parking as there is a park/playground right across from the station.

With a reliable source telling me, the lettering and paint scheme you see is what all the "Old Maxims" in Melrose were painted like, E1 had a 1957, E2 a 1954 and E3 a 1947... Maybe HOWIE and get some photos from his archive instead of Posting "Fire Helmets" <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' /> in another thread. ALSO for those that want to know. They will be painting E3 to match E2 and Hook and Ladder 1........ SO hurry up and get your photos of E3..... Does any body have a photo of it lettered E1 ? ?

Oh, was someone trying to get my attention? I'm not at home until WED night, but I will see what I can dig up. I think I have an original factory photo of a 1950's quad from Melrose. It's tough to tell from Doug's pic, but the lettering to me looks like an old Seagrave style more than Maxim. Just my .02. Will look into it.

I really like the color. It's too bad that old photos are in B&W, because most old fire trucks were painted that deeper red color, almost maroon. Maxim used a maroon color in the teens and 20's called Uzatona red. Can't say I have seen it in color, but its listed in several old specs I have. More to follow.

Well Thanks Howie ! Knew that would get ya...... CREO Not sure what they are doing with the two E\-One's and 2 Mack CF's that they have left....... No time table on E3 getting repainted. Also Reading is getting a Seagrave Pump.

Thanks Jim I had heard Reading was getting a Seagrave. I also heard two other Seagrave Tid Bits from north of Boston. 1 is Revere might order a Seagrave Pump. 2 Reading and Wakefield might buy identical Ladder trucks from Seagrave next year.
